Union, N.J.-based Redefine Healthcare is providing minimally invasive lumbar decompression procedures at its New Jersey facilities, reports Digital Journal.
Four things to know:
1. MILD is indicated for patients with moderate to severe lumbar spinal stenosis who experience notable pain.
2. The procedure is an X-ray-guided percutaneous treatment designed to decrease pain and increase mobility while preserving the spine's structure.
3. Patients are sedated and the surgeon guides a tool through a small incision to scrape out the disruptive ligament and enlarge the spinal canal to minimize nerve compression.
4. The procedure can be performed in an outpatient setting.
