St. Marys, Pa.-based Penn Highlands Healthcare plans to invest some $111 million to expand the system's presence in Clearfield, Pa., and DuBois, Pa., Gant News reports.

Here's what you should know:

1. Penn Highlands plans to:

  • Expand and renovate the Penn Highlands DuBois East Campus' Behavioral Health Hospital
  • Construct an emergency department and patient tower at Penn Highlands DuBois West Campus
  • Build a five-story annex at DuBois West Campus, which will feature an ASC.
  • Create a Center of Excellence on Penn Highlands West Campus, which will focus on orthopedics
  • Develop a medical office building at Penn Highlands Brookville (Pa.)
  • Renovate the Pinecrest Manor at Penn Highlands St. Marys (Pa.)
  • Erect a two-story quality care and walk-in clinic in Monroe Township, Pa.

2. Penn Highlands Healthcare CEO Steve Fontaine said the $111 million expansion plan will help the Penn Highlands system serve northwest and central Pennsylvania residents.
