From Medtronic's rebrand and report to a new FDA-approved spine system, here are six updates from spine and orthopedic device companies in the last week.

1. The first cases using the 7D Percutaneous Spine Module have been completed in the U.S. and Australia.

2. Life Spine's ProLift micro expandable spacer system for spine surgery was cleared by the FDA.

3. SeaSpine released the NorthStar OCT posterior cervical fixation system in a commercial launch. 

4. West Chester, Pa.-based orthopedic device company Centinel Spine won its second consecutive Orthopedics This Week Spine Technology Award. 

5. Medtronic has invested nearly $70 million in healthcare training and executed health equity strategies, according to its fiscal year 2021 Integrated Performance Report: Engineering Impact. Read more details here.
