Neurosurgeons at Winchester-based Virginia Brain and Spine Center are using two pieces of new technology to perform surgeries, according to a Dec. 28 report from The Northern Virginia Daily.
The Airo Mobile Intraoperative CT and Curve Image Guided Surgery platform work hand-in-hand, the report said. The Airo CT provides imaging in the operating room to give surgeons the latest anatomical information, and the Curve platform displays 3D images in an intraoperative position.
The technology is used for all brain tumor cases and about 80 percent of lumbar spine fusions, the report said.
