OrthoPediatrics is expanding into the United Kingdom commercial market with the approval and launch of two surgical systems, according to a Dec. 21 news release.

The company received U.K. regulatory clearance for its pediatric nailing platform for femoral fractures and initiated its ApiFix system for posterior dynamic deformity correction system, the release said.

The femoral surgical platform uses an intramedullary nailing system with distinct implants for children and adolescents, the release said. The ApiFix system is approved for use in children with spine curves and early onset scoliosis.

"Our continued international expansion represents our commitment to being the end-to-end provider of pediatric orthopedics solutions around the globe," OrthoPediatrics president Dave Bailey said in the release. "Our ability to provide innovative technology to pediatric orthopedic surgeons in their home markets is something I am very proud of, and as we head into the new year, we look forward to expanding our global footprint."
