The FDA on April 7 provided OrthoSensor 510(k) clearance for its alignment technology with Verasense when used with Zimmer Biomet's Persona knee system.
Three things to know:
1. Verasense is a sensor-assisted device designed for use with knee implant systems during total joint replacement procedures.
2. The single-use sensor measures tibial coronal alignment and soft-tissue balance.
3. Verasense sends real-time data to a monitor in the OR to assist orthopedic surgeons making informed intraoperative decisions.
