2 spine device company mergers and acquisitions — October

Spinal Tech

Here are two spine device company mergers and acquisitions last month.

NeuroRecovery Technologies merged with GTX Medical to form a new neurostimulation company, GTX Medical BV. GTX Medical BV is designing an implantable spinal cord stimulation device with real-time motion feedback known as targeted epidural spine stimulation and a transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation device to restore upper limb movement and hand function.

Stryker acquired Mobius Imaging and sister company Cardan Robotics for $500 million. Stryker intends to use the imaging and robotic technologies of Mobius and Cardan to boost its presence in the spine, orthopedic and neurotechnology markets. The acquisition grants Stryker's spine division access to the intraoperative imaging sector and aligns with its navigation and implant portfolio.
