Here are four minimally invasive spine surgery devices and technologies making a splash in the industry.

Fall River, Mass.-based Saint Anne's Hospital and Medical City Fort Worth (Texas) installed the Globus ExcelsiusGPS, which uses guided navigation to line up the robotic arm to where an implant will be placed in the spine.

TranS1 earned two patents focusing on presacral interbody fusion and one patent relating to a new technique designed for sacroiliac fusion.

Titan Medical earned the Canadian Patent "End Effector Apparatus for a Surgical Instrument." The patent is related to end-effector actuation mechanism that is suitable for small instruments used in robotic surgery.

San Diego-based Scripps Health brought its minimally invasive robotic surgery program to Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas (Calif.), with the implementation of the da Vinci Surgical System.
