Butte-based Montana Orthopedics' Anthony Russo, MD, became the first spine surgeon in the U.S. to implant Kore Fiber, a demineralized cortical fiber allograft.

Orthobiologic company Kolosis partnered with MTF Biologics to launch Kore Fiber, which is an aseptically-processed cortical bone matrix with significant handling characteristics, according to a Feb. 17 news release.

"I have used MTF allografts extensively over 20 years, in both general orthopedic cases as well as spine surgery cases," Dr. Russo said. "The aseptic processing methods coupled with the favorable handling characteristics of Kore provide an excellent option for bone grafting."

Kore Fiber is available in four different sizes of moldable fiber and three sizes of strips, according to the company.
