4 professional societies partner to form The Biologics Alliance

The Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, International Cartilage Repair Society and ON Foundation have partnered to form The Biologics Alliance.

What you should know:

1. The alliance aims to be a leading voice on musculoskeletal biologics and regenerative medicine.

2. The alliance was founded in 2018 to evaluate current guidance around biologics-based treatments. They aim to advocate for the responsible use of biologics by developing a scientific basis for the treatments.

The alliances' board is led by the following leading voices in the orthopedics community:

  • Brian Cole, MD, of Chicago-based Rush University

  • Jason Dragoo, MD, of Denver-based University of Colorado

  • Christian Lattermann, MD, of Boston-based Brigham and Women's Hospital

  • Bert Mandelbaum, MD, of Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute

  • Louis McIntyre, MD, of Hempstead, N.Y.-based Hofstra University

  • Norimasa Nakamura, MD, of Osaka University Hospital in Japan

  • Scott Rodeo, MD, of New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery
